Chris Ingram, the first British winner of the European Rally Championship for 52 years, has selected UK-based integrated marketing communications agency SQN to support his goals of reaching the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC).
The 25-year-old from Manchester has made no secret of his ambitions to move into the top class of world rallying following a stellar European season in 2019 in which he, alongside co-driver Ross Whittock, made history.
The agreement with SQN has been announced on the eve of the annual Autosport International show (9-12 January), which Ingram will attend. SQN will support Ingram on commercial deals and personal brand development as the British star strives to find the funds required to step up to the world rally stage in 2020.
Chris Ingram said: “I have made no secret of my desire to move into WRC and that time is now. Building on our achievements in last year’s title-winning European Rally Championship season, we are ready to demonstrate our credentials on the world’s stages. To do this, we have to meet some pretty ambitious funding targets. We are looking forward to working with the team at SQN as we fight to overcome the odds once again.”
Claire Ritchie-Tomkins, CEO of SQN, added: “Chris and Ross are the next big thing in international motorsport. Their European Rally Championship title is evidence of their talent and their unrelenting determination. At SQN, we have spent two decades bringing brands into motorsport; we recognise the unique benefits that motorsport can bring to them. Chris is a hugely marketable, personable, well-presented and talented young man, who would be a fantastic asset for the right company to associate themselves with. We look forward to working with him in the coming months and helping him to meet his goals.”
