SQN Announces Organisational Restructure for Growth

October 22, 2020

We have announced a key restructuring to our senior organisation to support ambitious growth targets on the back of our most successful years of business.

Client Services Director, Chris Hughes, has taken on a new Managing Director role, assuming day-to-day running of the agency and continuing to oversee our client work. Chris will be supported in his new position by CEO Claire Ritchie-Tomkins and COO Chris Ritchie.

As part of our vision to redefine the agency experience for its clients, we have also added new propositions to our existing service offerings including a unique ABM-focussed approach to sponsorship and the development of a sponsorship sales tool. In addition, specific roles have been created in order to drive business in our two core areas of sport and tech.

Account Director and European Sponsorship Association Diploma Graduate, Stuart Owen, has taken on the role of Sport and Sponsorship Lead within the agency, as we head into its 20th year. Alongside the Sport and Sponsorship position, we have also added a complementary B2B and Technology role, which will ensure the business can continue to thrive in its sweet spot where technology and sport overlap.

SQN’s activation team has continued to evolve during a challenging 2020, adding exciting new talent to our roster to deliver content, communications and campaigns for clients, as well as taking a fresh look at sponsorship.

Claire Ritchie-Tomkins, CEO, said: “This year has been an incredibly tough one for business across all industries, so I am pleased that SQN continues to show its resilient nature. We are entering our 20th year with renewed enthusiasm and determination with a new structure, fresh propositions and a bright outlook for the future of our business. I am delighted to announce Chris Hughes as Managing Director of SQN. Chris has proven to be a critical and integral part of the team over 12 years and is well placed to take SQN into an exciting new chapter.

Chris Hughes said: “I am honoured to be given the opportunity to take on the MD role at SQN. I am excited about the vision and growth plans for the business in the coming years and relish this new personal challenge. We have an incredibly talented team of individuals at SQN and I am privileged to be able to lead them as we begin this new chapter for the company. I extend my thanks to Claire and Chris for entrusting me with this role and to our clients, who have shown unwavering commitment to us during this challenging year. We are committed to redefining the agency experience for businesses, to do things differently and to deliver world-class content, communications and sponsorship services that enhance revenues, relationships and reputations.”
