SQN extends partnership with Greenpower Education Trust for 2021

December 2, 2020

Marketing communications, content, campaigns and sponsorship agency SQN will continue as the official Communications Partner of Greenpower Educational Trust for 2021.

The renewed partnership sees SQN continue as a Main Partner of the charity for a second year, further solidifying the agency’s commitment to Greenpower and its goal to encourage more young people across the United Kingdom into STEM through a hands-on motorsport challenge.

SQN and Greenpower’s relationship began in late 2018. Greenpower was a retained client of SQN’s in 2019, in which the charity celebrated its 20th anniversary year and a successful Hull Street Race – the first-ever all-electric UK street race on closed roads.

SQN’s promotion to Communications Partner was officially announced on the occasion of the Greenpower International Finals at Silverstone Circuit in October 2019. Many of the SQN team attended the event to experience Greenpower first-hand. Since then, the Henley-based agency has integrated Greenpower into its business, with all SQN employees empowered to be Greenpower advocates.

Over the past 12 months, SQN has worked closely with Greenpower to maintain public awareness of the charity’s outstanding work and efforts throughout 2020, a year during which they were unfortunately unable to run their regular events due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Looking forward, SQN and Greenpower are determined to make 2021 a stronger year for the organisation, with an emphasis on the benefits of the Greenpower challenge in a time where the effects of the Coronavirus on the education system has created a real need and desire for practical, hands-on learning.

The benefits of the partnership are visible on both sides, with SQN using the association with Greenpower to exhibit the potential of partnerships as a core aspect of the marketing mix, particularly in conjuncture with the automotive and technology sectors.

Chris Hughes, Managing Director of SQN

“Greenpower has become an important and valued member of the SQN family since we started our partnership. Working with Paul and his dedicated team has allowed us to see first-hand the benefits that Greenpower offers to young people of all backgrounds to pursue a career in STEM. On the back of a challenging year, it is more vital than ever that we offer the next generation the life skills and opportunities that Greenpower affords. It is why we are proud to extend our commitment to Greenpower as Communications Partner into 2021.”

Paul van Veggel, CEO of Greenpower Educational Trust

“2020 has been strange times for us all, but SQN has been vital to seeing us through the crisis and keeping us relevant and present in the minds of our current and future participants and partners. We look forward to continuing this momentum into 2021. The support of our partners and sponsors this year has enabled us to provide resources, activities and guidance to our teams, as we sought to continue the spirit of Greenpower during a time where the majority of our participants were unable to meet or work on our cars. There is a lot of work still to be done to ramp up our plans for 2021, but with the support of our partners and sponsors we are confident it will be another great year for Greenpower.”
