Challenge:
- To capture the story of the world first 8K 360 live stream proof of concept planned by Tata Communications at the British Masters Golf
- Understand the European Tour technical and playing environment setup in order to be able to tell the story to those on-site as well as capturing content for wider distribution
- Produce a video content piece that is interesting as well as informative to drive digital and social engagement
Solution:
- A recce trip to the British Masters venue at Walton Heath and a meeting with the Tata Communications technical lead responsible for the POC, enabled SQN to develop the story and agree an overall communication plan
- Manage onsite showcase and the production of a video including script, onsite filming and interviews with both Tata Communications and European Tour executives
- Liaison with the European Tour, the production team and Tata Communications to create a shot list and shooting schedule was drawn up for the three days of filming onsite across the venue at Walton Heath and the site of the Hero Challenge at Canary Wharf
Result:
- Engagement with guests, media and European Tour players onsite delivered positive feedback on the direction of the proof of concept
- Within two days of the end of the British Masters, a four-minute video piece was finalised and subtitled for distribution on Tata’s Communication’s Twitter and YouTube channels.
- Positive global media coverage and uptake of the story and video across an integrated social programme including Twitter, LinkedIn, and YouTube
